"CDS" stands for Circular Date Stamp, the most common sort of postmark put on letters to record their time of entry into the mailstream, or of their receipt at some point along the way.
CDS — "Circular datestamp." A circular postmark containing the date and, usually, the place of mailing. A CDS used at the left or bottom or on the back of a cover is a transit marking or a receiving marking.
CDS ceremony program The printed program usually distributed by the Postal Service or sponsoring organization at the first day dedication of a new stamp. These are usually collected with the new stamp affixed and cancelled on the first day.
