The choice of designs is highly variable, ranging from an overtly religious image of the Nativity, to secular images of Christmas trees, wreaths, Santa Claus, and so forth.
Other Christmas stamps bearing secular designs are often called holiday stamps and they are commonly Santa Claus stamps and Christmas tree stamps.
These stamps were released to celebrate the festive season with symbols that people often associate with Christmas. The symbols include Christmas trees, stars, gifts (giving), baby Jesus and the three Wise Men.
