Civil wars have left their mark in stamp collectors' catalogs, albums and postal history collections. Sometimes, the stamps of a breakaway faction in a civil war gain legitimacy by being listed in standard postage stamp catalogs.

"CSA" stands for Confederate States of America, the official name for the South during the War.
