Entire: An intact piece of postal stationery, in contrast to a cut-out of the imprinted stamp. This term is sometimes used in reference to an intact cover or folded letter.

This refers to any form of mint or used postal stationery ( envelope, wrapper or card) left fully intact, rather than cut down to its printed stamp.

Entire covers such as these are a treat for collectors, for they show precisely how these long-gone entities used the stamps and markings that moved the mails along.

If you're wanting to get a value for an entire sheet of stamps you will have to try one of the other methods. Another shortcoming is that this guide doesn't include last year's stamps. It only includes up to the previous year's stamps.

My best thinking for a new beginner is to trim stamps still on paper (from envelopes or flyer covers etc.) with scissors - and, while you're at it, why not keep the postmark: these are known as 'cut squares'. Or perhaps keep the entire envelope ...
