Frame. The outside area of a stamp's design.
Freak. An abnormal stamp that has some kind of printing flaw---from overinking to perforation mistakes.

The outer part or border of a printed stamp design. Frames can range in complexity from a simple line to an ornate and elaborately detailed arrangement covering much of the printed stamp.

Frame. The border, or outside, portion of a design.
Frame Inverted. A curious error (Spanish) where a part of the frame was inverted.
Fugitive. An ink intended to prevent cleaning of stamp cancels, which runs when in contact with water or other fluid.

The framed lens may be mounted on a stand, keeping the lens at the right distance from the table, and therefore at the right distance from the object on the table. The latter applies if the object is small, and also if the height is adjustable.

Inverted frame - a term used to describe a misprint that leaves part of the image upside down or inverted. Occasionally, a single cliche is inverted in the plate, resulting in one color producing a tete beche in a multiple piece.

It's technically the brown intaglio that is inverted, since it was printed last, but descriptions of inverts generally give preference to the frame or major design elements, so this is described as "flame inverted" by most people.

The number of frames allotted for the exhibit is limited therefore your entire collection cannot be exhibited. Choose the best items which ensure continuity and understanding of your subject.

Many different issued might all use an identical key plate which would normally include the frame and the main design.
