Ghost Tagging Images - portions of a stamp's image, or more commonly the plate number from the just previously printed plate, setoff on the following printed stamp. Ghosts occur during offset tagging, are usually faint, and slightly off center.
Ghost tagging: The appearance of a faint image impression in addition to the normal inked impression. This is caused by misregistration of the phosphor tagging in relation to the ink.
