Blind Perf.

Mint no gum (MNG) - the stamp appears to be unused but has no gum. It might have been used but not cancelled, or have been issued without gum.
Unmounted mint (UM) - the stamp is unused and has never been mounted.

The Scott catalogs also values some older stamps of which few examples exist with original gum in "unused, no gum" condition.

gum In early issue, part of gum or no gum; later issues, complete undisturbed gum; no faults except hinging
colour Fresh and bright, no fading
paper Free of all defects ...

Gum Skip - a generally small area on a stamp to which no gum adhered during production. Gum skips are most commonly encountered on flat plate stamps from the first part of the 20th century.

In both cases, this type of cleaning is acceptable, because it does not damage or alter a stamp in any negative way; however, peroxide should be used only on stamps with no gum, because it will remove the gum from mint stamps.
