Packets offer worldwide stamps, stamps from a single region or continent, or stamps from a single country.
Some packet ads specify a quantity of stamps, and some specify that the stamps in the packet will have a specific catalog value.

Listed below are many stamp packets from all over the world. Many more will be added as this Web Page is constructed, but I thought you would like to get going right away.

Packet Letter - a letter carried by a ship operating on a regular schedule and under contract to the Post Office.
PAID - a marking applied to a stampless letter to indicate that postage had been paid in cash.

Each packet contains 20 or 30 stamps of two or three different denominations. No more than THREE stamps from each packet are required to mail a 39¢ First Class letter. Each packet contains stamps enough for 10 mailings.

This packet or bulk lot material gives the illusion that the buyer is getting a lot for his money.

Paquebot (‘Packet Boat'). Term given to letters posted on board ships at sea and to the form of postmark used.
Parachute Mail Messages that have been dropped by parachute usually onto remote areas or small islands.

Tips: One way to get a good assortment of stamps is buying 'kiloware', packets, lots or mixtures. Shop around and compare and you will find some good deals (no particularly link is endorsed by me).

The next step would be to buy stamp packets of a particular country. For instance, you may want to purchase a pack of 500 stamps from Germany or 1000 from Hungary, etc. These will really help to fill in the country chosen.

Postage dues - or 'unpaid letter' stamps, are labels affixed to under-stamped postal packets at the office of delivery. It is the obligation of the postman to collect the amount indicated.

Self-service registration stamp - a stamp with the dual purpose of registration and special handling for use with letter packets and parcels. The stamps were issued in pairs from automatic vending machines with a certificate of posting.

The tax was levied on medicines, pills, etc., it became easier to apply printed (usually dated) cancellations prior to the stamp being stuck on the relevant bottle, box or packet. This precancellation was authorized by the US Internal Revenue.
