The Memorial Chamber commemorative was issued in 1938 as part of the Pictorials Issue. Opened in 1928, it is located on the third floor of the Peace Tower in Canada's Parliament Buildings.

In 1869, the country issued its first postage stamps picturing something other than a dead person. These Pictorials, as they are called, show a post horse and rider, a locomotive, a shield and eagle, and a ship, the Adriatic.
