Regional postage stamps are listed in the Scott standard catalog, but most local postage stamps are not, although the coverage of older local stamps in the Scott classic specialized catalog has expanded in recent years and continues to expand.

 


Regional studies are typically based on a geographical area, such as countries of origin, native districts, cities, towns or villages, places associated with family roots, or workplaces.

Regional: Stamp sold or valid in a specific area of a stamp-issuing entity. Great Britain has issued stamps for the regions of Guernsey, Jersey, Isle of Man, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Reissue: An official reprint of old stamps.
Remainders: Stocks of stamps which remain unsold.
