With the glory days of airmail behind it, collectors are waiting to see if a new era of space exploration, travel and possible colonization will engender an astropost serving those living in space stations and beyond.
Popular areas of Americana collecting include presidents, movie stars, technology, writers, agriculture, national monuments, space exploration, war and sports. Of course, this list is by no means comprehensive.
People often begin collecting because they like the designs on particular stamps, or because of an interest in a favourite topic, such as sport, animals or space exploration.
