Some Interesting Stamp Facts
In 1973 Bhutan issued a stamp that looked like a record. Put it on a record player and it would actually play the Bhutanese national anthem!
The United Kingdom is the only country that doesn't have its name on its stamps.

Stamped envelope production - a technique using a resilient plate instead of a rigid one. This technique allows the paper to be forced into the depressions of the die to show as a colorless relief on the finished stamp.

Stampless Cover -- A folded sheet or envelope carried as mail without a postage stamp. This term usually refers to covers predating the requirement that stamps be affixed to all letters (in the United States, 1856).

stamped card—A postcard sold by the USPS (as distinguished from a privately printed postcard) with a printed or impressed postage stamp. Compare to postcard.

DATESTAMP - A hand or machine stamp containing a date
ETIQUETTE - An adhesive which is not a postage stamp.
FANCY CANCEL - A cancellation which is or includes a design.
