Stamp tongs
Stamp tongs require little instruction in use. Each of us will instinctively hold the tongs as they feel most comfortable. They are used to pick up and hold a stamp either for identification or to mount in the album.

 


Stamp tongs are tweezers used to handle postage stamps. They are used by stamp collectors and philatelists, because they are a reliable way to hold and move stamps without damaging or getting skin oils on them.

Most stamp tongs available in the market are made out of metal. Standard stamp tweezers has a length of 4 to 8 inches (or about 10 to 20 cm).

Stamps are fragile things and fingers can damage them through bending as well as the oils on the finger. The basic tool that the philatelist uses to handle stamps are stamp tongs.

Stamp tongs are an essential tool for every stamp collector. In many different ways, tongs help collectors handle stamps safely and reduce the chances of damage.

The Stamp Tongs are a must for any stamp collector. Always handle stamps with tongs. These are available in stamp hobby centres and from stamp dealers by post. A pair of stamp tongs will cost about (Indian Rupees) Rs. 35/-.
