At a September 13 joint meeting of the boards of the American Philatelic Society Board and American Philatelic Research Library, Veronesi Building and Remodeling, Inc.
It was unfortunately stored in a contractor's yard in London which was subject to a direct hit from a German bomb during the Blitz, thus destroying forever some important boxes.

highway contract route (HCR)—A route of travel served by a postal contractor to carry mail over highways between designated points. Some HCRs include mail delivery to addresses along the line of travel. Formerly called star route.
