Travelling Post Offices Postmarks used on mail which has been sorted on special postal railway coaches or trains, and which may have been picked up and/or delivered at selected points en route.

In the UK, the first RPO (called a TPO, for Travelling Post Office) was established in 1837 or 1838, and trains quickly became the primary means for moving mail there.
