One of the persons included in the issue was Lazare Carnot, the French general who is considered the real organizer of victory for the revolutionary armies.

There were wins and losses on both sides during the two years that the war lasted, with no clear victory for either of the warring parties (the Treaty of Ghent signed on 24 December 1814 maintained the status quo).

In 2011 there was some talk of putting a picture of the slain Bin Laden on a stamp, which some thought would be a sort of philatelic victory lap, engendered by the U.S. vanquishing one of its most notorious enemies.

Here's what the form looked like unfolded. Note the way "V-mail" is printed, with dot- dot-dot-dash between the "V" and "Mail" - that's Morse code for the letter "V". Need I point out that "V is for Victory"?
