But how to you get your cyber want list out there?

Want list - in building up a collection, one method is to send or give details of requirements to a responsible dealer, quoting country, values, colours, catalogue reference numbers, whether mint or used, and the quantity of each item.

Want List: A list of needed stamps or covers or pictorial postmarks, identified by catalogue number or some other description, submitted by a collector to a dealer, usually including requirements on condition and price.

There are the "want list" dealers, those who try to meet all stamp needs, and others who specialize in one country, or group of countries.

5) Make a stamp want list
Another cool thing about philately is that you can do a stamp collectors exchange list.

All dealers submit stamps against want lists through the mail. This is done either on approval, against a charge account, or on direct order.

Prepare a "Want list" in advance of stamps that you need to fill holes in your collection. Whether you collect topics or entire counries, the "Want list" should contain the name of the country and under it the catalog numbers of the stamps you need.

Consider filling other spaces by visiting dealers or sending them your want lists. Another good way to fill holes is through approvals; stamps sent to you through the mail to look over. You buy what you need and return the rest.
