This image is the 8c Washington Bicentennial stamp issued in 1932. This commemorative set features 12 different portraits of George Washington. This set is inexpensive to collect and should be part of any United States collection.

Common stamps, such as the 1932 United States 2¢ carmine George Washington stamp (Scott 707) in the Washington Bicentennial issue, shown in Figure 1, are still plentiful and readily available despite being issued more than 75 years ago.

Cacheted first day covers, on the other hand, are increasing in popularity. The real start of this activity came with the Washington Bicentennial set of 1932, ...

Cacheted cover postmarked on the battleship USS Colorado (BB-45) during Fleet Week, August 1933. Stamps are the Century of Progress issued several months earlier, and a 1/2c Washington Bicentennial from 1932.
