Achromatic / Apochromatic Doublets
Special lens systems (achromatic or apochromatic doublets) using two or more pieces of glass with different refractive indexes can reduce or eliminate this problem.
Achromatic: Without color. A lens which refracts light of all colors equally is said to be achromatic.
Acid Paper: Nonpermanent papers (PH below 7.0).

Achromatic Colors
The "hueless" colors black, gray, and white, that is, the whole range of gray levels between black and white.
Achromatic Color - The primary colors of light (red, green, and blue) used by scanners, monitors, and other computer devices. When combined, they produce white light.
ACHROMATIC - Free from chromatic aberration. An achromatic lens is able to transmit light without separating it into colors.
ACUTANCE - A measure of the sharpness with which the film can produce the edge of an object.

Achromatic Lens An Achromatic lens is a system of lenses joined in order to minimize color and shape distortions (chromatic and spherical aberrations) that are inherent in a single lens system.

Try to get a diopter called “two element' or “achromatic' like the Nikon or Canon versions, they are better quality than the one element diopters. Remember, when searching on-line, they are sometimes under “close-up lens'.
I use an 70-300 Apo Macro Zoom with an achromatic attachment lens and 60 cm extension ring. The subject can be illuminated with a camera mounted Speedlite. It gives reasonable images at aperture 22.
