Note also that we have made assumptions about print size, viewing distance and visual acuity in these calculations. These happen to be the "standard" assumptions most camera makers make when calibrating the depth of field scales on their lenses.

It not only magnifies the viewfinder image to 2:1 size (double) but also has a built-in acuity diopter which allows the individual to adjust the Rx according to their own specific visual status.

Also, the visual acuity is much greater directly in the middle of what we see (try reading a sign that you are not looking directly at!) The eye resembles a video camera more then a photographic camera.

K14 offers higher resolution (though not necessarily higher *acuity* ) and better permanence than E6. In addition, many (including myself) prefer the Kodachrome palette to any other. The only other slide film that I really like is Fuji Sensia.

But, these guides do have very special skills and incredible visual acuity, and a muck photographer will increase his or her efficiency by relying on local knowledge.

I haven't noticed any particular image degradation caused by filters, but then perhaps I simply lack the highly-refined, well-trained and hawkeyed visual acuity to notice the shocking drop in image sharpness.

The acceptable circle of confusion is influenced by visual acuity, viewing conditions, and the amount by which the image is enlarged.
