Advanced Photo System
Advanced Photo System (APS) refers to the 24 mm film that is the standard format for still photography. There are three different types of APS film that are classified as either "H," "C" or "P.

Advanced Photo System (APS)
The newer Advanced Photo System uses film that is slightly smaller than 35mm, enclosed in a special cassette for easier loading into the camera.

APS (Advanced Photo System) cameras and film are an alternative to traditional 35mm film cameras. They are perfect for the snapshot photographer who desires the smallest, lightest and easiest type of camera.

APS - Advanced Photo System - will probably be the last film format ever invented. It was released in 1996 by Kodak and a consortium of major manufacturers, including Fuji, Agfa, Konica, Nikon, Canon, Minolta and Pentax.

Advanced Photo System. Developed together by five companies, this film system is distinguished by simple operation, a new picture format (16 x 30 mm) as well as a choice of three picture formats.

Many of you will know of the new type of film and cameras that were introduced a couple of years ago called Advanced Photo System (APS). This system offers a dummy proof film system that uses drop in film cartridges that can be swapped mid roll.

Photo-finishers and manufacturers of Advanced Photo System (APS) cameras also use the word "panoramic" to refer to any print format with a wide aspect ratio, not necessarily photos that encompass a large field of view.

The most commonly available miniature cameras use the APS, or Advanced Photo System. This is a cartridge film in a 16 x 24mm format.

Short for Advanced Photo System, APS film comes in a cassette that automatically advances to the first frame when you close the back of the camera. At the end of the roll, the camera rewinds the film back into the cassette and closes the film cover.

The name is derived from the APS (Advanced Photo System) film format that was introduced in 1996 for the amateur point-and-shoot market. The APS format is 50% smaller than a standard 35mm frame.
