A figure generated to indicate the light sensitivity of printing paper. Not to be confused with the ANSI computer character standard.

ANSI - Abbreviation for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), a private non-profit organization founded in 1916 that oversees the development and accreditation of voluntary consensus standards for products, services, processes, ...

ANSI: American National Standards Institute. A standards-setting, non-government organization which develops standards for "voluntary" use in the United States. Standards set are accepted by vendors in that country.

-ANSI - speed rating system for photographic materials devised by the American National Standards Institute.
-Anti-fogging agent - constituent of a developer that inhibits or reduces fogging during development.

In 1995, the American National Standards Institute adopted ANSI/ASME Y14.

ANSI Lumens. A measurement of the overall brightness of a projector, the higher number of ANSI lumens means that if you're in a bright room, you'll still be able to see your image, and the colors in your flowers will stay saturated.

Fidelity 11x14 follows the ANSI standard.... (but does your F&S or Corona or whatever camera. expecially if it is really old??). Alan Brubaker (AWB enterprises) makes outstanding holders for 11x14 and up. I know you won't be disappointed.

Brightness is specified by an ANSI lumens rating, with higher numbers being brighter and better for photos. With lower ratings you may have to make the room darker or project the image from closer up so it's smaller.

This speed-rating system is adopted by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and is used to establish the speed of aerial film.
