Aperture lens opening
The opening in a camera lens through which light passes to expose the film. The size of aperture is either fixed or adjustable. Aperture size is usually calibrated in f-numbers.

 


F-stop (f-number). A numerical designation (f/2, f/2.8, etc.) indicating the size of the aperture lens opening.
Grain. The particles of silver that make up a photographic image.
