Apochromatic. Having the ability to bring all colours of the visible spectrum to a common plane of focus, within close tolerances, usually refer to a lens with such superior colour correction. Also refer to "ED", "LD", "SD", "UD".
APO (Apochromatic)
Lenses that use internal elements to bring all colors of the visible spectrum to a common point of focus, creating a sharp image and minimizing chromatic aberrations, are referred to as APO lenses.

Apochromatic Lens - A specialty lens that focuses all light colors at the same point.
"APO" elements (UD, SUD, CaF2, LD, SLD, ED etc.) improve contrast and sharpness by reducing chromatic aberration (color defects) that usually occur in tele lenses.
CONV - APO Teleconverter EX. Lenses with this designation can be used with the Sigma APO Teleconverter EX. Using it will increase the focal length and it will interface with the camera's auto exposure function.
