A system that automatically sets correct exposure by linking a camera’s exposure meter with the shutter or aperture or both.

Automatic exposure and pre-programmed scene modes make it easier than ever to get great shots with a digital camera. Despite all the sophistication, it is possible, even likely, to get poorly exposed photos.

Because in fast-moving sports, even with automatic exposure and auto-focus capabilities, the camera cannot plan a photograph or be at the right place at the right time to capture a winning photograph.
It's a real rangefinder, having full manual control (as well as offering automatic exposure...which has proven to be reasonably accurate from some of my trials). I'm totally blown away by the quality of the lens in this camera.

As mentioned above, don't rely solely on the automatic exposure modes (automatic, program, aperture priority, shutter priority) of your camera.
A picture looks its best with proper light and exposure. Usually the camera gives automatic exposure. As you get more comfortable with the camera, try manually controlling the lights and exposure to get the best pictures.
Automatic exposure modes work fine for most scenes, but the meter can only see
