Baryta.
1. Barium sulphate/sulfate. This material is applied to certain types of black and white photographic paper prior to the application of the emulsion during the manufacturing process.

Fibre-based (FB or Baryta) photographic papers consist of a paper base coated with a baryta.

Early gelatin silver prints had no baryta layer, but modern prints not only have a baryta layer, but that layer is calendared in different ways to produce different surface textures.

Very thick, so not the best choice for making photo books. I like Hahnemuhle papers too, but have not tried the equivalent Baryta paper yet and given how pricey it is compared to Gold Fibre Silk, probably not anytime soon.
