Base/Tripod Mount
On the bottom of the camera you'll find the metal tripod socket which is aligned exactly with the center line of the lens. The mount also appears to be in line with the focal plane (position of the imager).

The base photo and the overlay were both taken at Westville Georgia. The overlay is of a hand woven curtain and the other is of a handmade quilt. The quilt and the curtain were made at Westville (a living history museum).
