A beauty dish is used in portrait and fashion work to generate a concentrated pool of light and produce its characteristic round catch light in the subject’s eyes.
Let's move on to Beauty Dishes The picture [below left] is of the Lencarta Beauty dish, which is available in 70cm and 40cm sizes. Other manufacturers, Bowens and Elinchrom for example, offer different sizes.
I used the B1600 with a beauty dish and grid, but the B1600 is complete overkill, you could easily get away with a less powerful strobe.
