Binary number system
A numbering system used in computers consisting of only 1's and 0's.
Bios
Basic input / output system. The computer part that manages communications between the computer and peripherals.

A bit is the smallest unit of storage in a digital computer, and is used to represent one of the two states in the binary number system. Bit Depth A measurement of the number of bits used to create a single pixel in a digital image.

The main difference is that digital format is a binary number system. That means that each bit can only take on two values, either a 0 or a 1. Therefore one bit can give only two values (0 - 1). Two bits can give 22 = 4 values (0 - 3).
