Bleeding is a degradation of image quality caused by oversaturated pixel sensors and results in 'colors that run'.

Bleed - An image that continues to the edge of the page, often accomplished by having the image extend past the edge and then trimming the page to the finished size.

BLEED - Describes a photographic print that extends to the edges of the paper (beyond the trim marks on a page) and has no visible border or defined margin area.

Bleed: When a picture extends to the extreme edge of a page it is said to bleed. A full page bleed has an image covering the entire page with no borders.

In the digital world it refers to the effect seen in an image when a CCD is overexposed to light; can distort colour and subject.

This is because the high-density area tends to "bleed" onto the low-density area due to the scattering or diffusing of light in the emulsion during exposure.

In other words, the darker colors tend to bleed into the lighter colors and the lighter colors tend to bleed into the darker colors. The blurred Soft Focus layer sits above the Background layer.

TWO HORIZONS: Whether youre shooting at sunrise or sunset, the sky color at the point of the rising or setting sun takes on a gradation of warm tones at the horizon and bleeds into cobalt blue the higher you look.

Their ink cartridges are quite expensive though and droplets of ink may bleed and affect neighboring colors.
For regularly printing large quantities of images a color laser printer would be a better choice.

Over the years, I've learned that a lot of photography skills bleed into other areas. If you learn about action photography, it'll help you learn how to take pictures of waterfalls.

I usually change the blending mode of the top layer temporarily to Multiply so that it bleeds through and I can visually line up the edges (it might be easier to just perform the alignment as the last step).

Colors are bleeding into one another, detail is masked by a haze of noise reduction, and high contrast areas have lost definition. There are ways of dealing with noise of course, and some cameras do better than others.

When composing an image, I think about logo and copy placement as I'm shooting. It's also important to recognize a full bleed (photo "bleeding" past the edge of the page) magazine format makes it necessary to crop a shot straight out of the camera.

Fringing, commonly associated with less-expensive lenses, describes the 'bleeding' of color along the edges of contrasty portions of a digital image.

And he Blue Blooming artefacts (I sometimes call them Sensor Bleeding) show up as dark areas in the B-Channel.

They would only consider mounting it to glass, as they say the texture of the foamcore bleeds through the print of the Ilfachrome.

When composing pictures of ice patterns I like to fill the frame with ice so that it bleeds off every edge. With icicles

Make sure your subject is contrasting the background and surrounding objects, or things may tend to "bleed" together in a black and white picture

To prevent bleed over of the warming effect into the shadows, the black point was considerably raised and the mid-point slider adjusted accordingly to taste.

Polaroid and film cameras struggle to process light 100% accurately, meaning that often times light will bleed through onto the film and make the picture look washed out.
