Clip test A test to determine accurate development times using a small part of the exposed film as a sample.
-Clip test - short sample of film, cut from the main exposed roll, used to determine the appropriate development and/or fixing time. -Close-up - general term for an image of a close subject, i.e. filling the frame.
Carefully metering each light multiple times, writing f/stop values on paper, poring over those still sticky instant pictures, learning to translate Polacontrast to film contrast, exposure bracketing, clip testing.
Do you know why the LEICA was invented? Because it was developed from little cameras Leitz made to be used alongside movie cameras for shooting short "clip tests," without having to cut film from the larger magazine in the movie camera.
