Close-up
Close-up is a term that indicates when the camera is extremely close to the subject. Close-ups are used to isolate specific details or attributes of the subject.
Close-up Portraits
These usually have the subject's shoulders and head or less. They are framed around the face. These are the most common and best at capturing expressions and glamour shots.

Close-ups. When using a camera that isn’t an SLR for close-ups, the monitor is a great way to compose and focus the image since it shows the scene exactly the way it will be in the image you’ll capture.

A close-up photograph of an object, person, or animal gives us perspective and details that we can't appreciate from far away. A telephoto lens allows you to get optically close to the subject when you can't get physically close.

In close-up photography, the optical viewfinder being offset from the taking lens, does not "see" exactly the same field of view, often resulting in a subject being partly cut off.

8. Focus on Close-Ups.
You could capture more memorable portrait photos by focusing on specific parts of your subjects: hands, eyes, mouth, tattoo or the lower half of the body.
For an extreme close-up of a ladybug, you would want to use a large aperture to create a shallow depth of field.

Most close-up shots do not look anything like what the pros shoot because of the lighting difference. Most professional close up shots (even of insects) are done in a studio with controlled lighting.
Close-up photography can quite literally open up whole new worlds of subjects to photograph. Anywhere, anytime.
Lens lengths vary between wide-angle (used for landscapes and shots in which you want to include as much as possible) and telephoto (used for close-ups and to zoom in on faraway objects).
