CMYK
CMYK is a particular color model based on four primary colors: cyan (bluish-green), magenta, yellow and key (black). Occasionally pronounced "c-mike," CMYK may also be written as YMCK or CYM.

What About CMYK?
For photographers, working in the CMYK color mode has several distinct disadvantages.

Also, because printing processes such as offset lithography use CMYK inks, a stock photo, which is usually supplied as RGB to give the designer, must be converted to CMYK colour to enable use.

CMYK- Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black (historically called the key color, hence K) are the standard inks used in the lithographic printing industry to reproduce color images.

That's why we set up the second color readout to CMYK in the Info palette. As it turns out, we can analyze the color of skin by observing the relationship between Cyan, Magenta and Yellow values in the Info palette.

Now this is great for viewing on computer screens, but when it comes to printing there is another solution: CMYK or Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and (K) Black.

Many layout artists have historically worked directly in CMYK (even less gamut than sRGB) space, but again, this is a device space, not a working space. If you try to print a CMYK image on a 6-color printer or show it on screen, it looks flat.

As powerful as LAB is, using it does have one big problem--it creates a painful workflow because you need to convert to LAB, do your corrections, and then (typically after flattening) convert back to RGB (or to CMYK).

For most of us, we live in the RGB world, so we don’t need to worry about CMYK devices.

I think all your photographs looked better before you mucked with them - especially the first one, and I'm willing to be that they all print far to dark, especially if put through a CMYK process..
Are you sure this is a good idea?

Black is added to improve rendition of shadow detail. CMYK is commonly used for printing (both on press and with your inkjet or laser color printer). A few image editors, including Photoshop, can work with images using the CMYK model.

A colour separation setting that establishes the maximum percentage of black ink in a CMYK image. The setting is made before an RGB image is converted to a CMYK image.

*Don't expect RGB results from a CMYK printer. CMYK is a smaller color space, meaning there are simply fewer colors available.

There are alternatives to RGB, such as CMYK - which is often used to specify colours to computer printers.

The red, green & blue, the black is simulated colour. CMYK is the four primary colours.

If the number given for bit depth is greater than 16 and is not divisible by 3 then it is probably referring to 4 channel CMYK.
