Cold Colors
These are colors that are in the blue, or cooler end of the color spectrum; where red, or warmer, colors are at the opposite end of the color spectrum.

In black-and-white photography, the contrast between white, grey and black elements is called tonal contrast. In color photography, the differences between warm and cold colors (reds against blues, for example) is called color contrast.
For depth effect you can also work with colors: Blue and green are cold colors which step in the background all by themselves.
