COLOR REVERSAL FILM PROCESSING Color transparency film forms dyes according to a reversed silver positive; for example, a yellow dye image forms in the top emulsion that corresponds to an absence of blue in the original scene.

 


Color reversal film after development is called a transparency and can be viewed directly using a loupe or projector. Reversal film mounted with plastic or cardboard for projection is often called a slide.

COLOR REVERSAL - Refers to film designed to make a positive image when exposed in the camera (slide film or transparency film).

Color Reversal Film Processing.-
The processing of Kodachrome films (the K- 14 process) is relatively complicated and can be carried out only in licensed laboratories with special equipment.

-Color reversal - film designed to produce a normal color positive image on the film exposed in the camera for subsequent viewing by transmitted light.

These are color reversal films. Again, in general, the lower the ISO the finer the grain, and the lower the contrast. Recently, new film emulsions in the ISO 50 to ISO 100 range have been released.

A photo image in which the light areas correspond to light areas in the subject, and the dark areas correspond to the shadow areas in the subject. Also called a slide, transparency or color reversal.
