The colour correction filter type is still widely used by scenic photographers to enhance the mood of an image. For instance, an 80A or 80B would really enhance the blueness of a twilight.

With the benefit of hindsight, I don't think that this was necessary, because accurate colour correction is not essential for such abstract images.

There are also more extreme colour correction filters for using daylight balanced film with tungsten light and tungsten balanced film with daylight. I actually have information on this topic on a different page - my flash photography article.

From there, you can perform colour corrections (CMY), density corrections, digitally enhance sharpness (and grain with it), or modify the contrast (lighten or darken highlights/shadows, or both at the same time).

Myself, I always do all basic editing (image corrections, manipulation etc) first, then I apply USM, and then I handle the colour corrections.

In RAW format the image is stored as raw data directly from the CCD without any in-camera processing (no sharpening, level correction, colour correction or white balance applied). The files are named .

To correct the cast not only would a longer exposure be needed but also the inclusion of a colour correction filter of a low value, care would have to be taken in choosing the correct filter otherwise an over corrected result may appear.
