Converging angles This occurs when the camera is not held or supported vertically. The vertical lines will seem to run together at the top or the bottom of a photo. Most noticeable with photographs of tall buildings.
Shift Movement on large format camera ( or special " shift lens " in other formats ) which can eliminate converging angles. Shooting distance Refers to the distance between the subject and the film plane.
A photograph of the Statue of Liberty from a normal viewpoint with a normal lens looks, well, normal. But move up next to the base with a 24mm or wider lens and shoot straight up, and it becomes a soaring tower of converging angles.
