Find a cool, dry room in your house to put the pictures in that doesn't get a lot of light and doesn't fluctuate a lot in temperature or humidity. The basement is too humid for storing photographs (and prone to flooding), and the attic is too dry.

How cool is this picture? Diahann didn't want to do anything dressy. So I begged and pleaded. Glad I did. This image is produced with just the two Lowell hotlights. One peeking over the top of the screen…and the other right next to my camera.

Among the many cool features of DxO, DxO Lighting Engine is one of the coolest. It does an excellent job of performing local exposure and dynamic range corrections to bring out the most detail possible in an image.

I participate in a lot of the sports I photograph, so I am always thinking of a cool perspective or angle that would make a visually stimulating photo.

Sometimes, when you look at the photos you've taken, you see that some of them have that cool or feeling blue effect that seems dull, boring, and sad. Well the reason for that is because you lack warming up those tones.

Yellow-red colors are considered warm, and blue-green colors are considered cool. Confusingly, higher Kelvin temperatures (3600-5500 K) are considered cool and lower color temperatures (2700-3000 K) are considered warm.
Try to setup your housing and close it in a cool, dry area to minimize the moisture inside the housing. Inside your cool, air-con room is a good choice. Outside on the boat on a hot, humid day can be a poor choice and can lead to fogging.
Digital cameras often misinterpret the ambient light, which results in images that appear either too warm (too much red) or too cool (too much blue). This is referred to as the white balance, and may need to be corrected.
Colors are also described in terms of cool colors and warm colors. In almost all cases a cool color will contrast with a warm one. To get a better idea of how this works in a photograph, picture a red brick wall.

Are these photography enthusiasts any different from you? No they are not. Many of them started with less skill and less knowledge than you.
Keep photos - and negatives particularly - in cool, dark, dry storage areas. Heat and dampness are both quite destructive, as is light.
I always love winter for photography, the ice and cool colors r so inspiring, and these tips were really helpful.
A linear scale for measuring the color of ambient light with warm (yellow) light measured in lower numbers and cool (blue) light measured in higher numbers.
Have you ever noticed that your shots sometimes have a cool, clammy feel to them? If so, you're not alone. The default white balance setting for digital cameras is auto, which is fine for most snapshots, but tends to be a bit on the "cool" side.
