A copy stand makes it easy to move the camera up and down and arrange the lights.

 


There are popular copy stands for doing small copies, say 11X14 at the largest. These are faster than using than my tripod set-up. If you are copying a large amount of originals from 4X6 inch to 11X14 inch you should check these out.

You can buy a copy stand which looks like an enlarger but without the enlarger head. You attach your camera and two diffused light sources (ordinary floods will work fine) set up on either sides to illuminate your subject and remove shadows.

-Copy Stand. are not provided with the copy stand, regular studio lights can be used in their place. When a copy stand is not available for use with a 35mm camera, the camera can be used on a tripod, mounted for either horizontal or vertical copying.

One can mount a digital camera on a copy stand (or an old enlarger with its projection head removed) and photograph the source image.

A viewfinder allowing to view from the top of the camera body. Good for candid shots at waist level, for photography at ground level and for copy stand or microscope work; also used by photojournalists to shoot from above. e.g. Nikon DW-30, DW-3 ...

High-Magnification Viewfinder A viewfinder used for viewing the entire image at a magnification higher than that with a standard viewfinder. Useful for close-up work, copy stand work and when trying to focus on subjects with fine detail.
