The colour correction filter type is still widely used by scenic photographers to enhance the mood of an image. For instance, an 80A or 80B would really enhance the blueness of a twilight.

There are color correction filters to correct white balance.
There are neutral density filters which are used to cut down the amount of light entering the camera without affecting the color or anything else.

All contrast and correction filters have a noticeable color. It is important to note that a filter must be used with an emulsion sensitive to the specific color of light it transmits.

Photographers often use color correction filters to get desired effect with certain films. Digital SLRs include several white balance settings to correct and filter out unwanted colors from images.

Colours can be corrected using colour correction filters (CC filters). A CC30 Magenta filter in British waters will remove some of the greenness. A CC30 Red filter in tropical waters will remove some of the blueness.

This works for color correction filters which don't need to be adjusted. The advantage is that a filter inside the camera is less likely to get dust, dirt, smudges, fingerprints, and will cause less flare.

When I acquired a digital camera I was pleased to learn that color correction filters for indoor lighting were no longer necessary. Instead, the "white balance" setting on my camera took on the same task as those filters.

We hate it when that happens but fortunately, you can use Photoshop CS2's Lens Correction filter to fix the vignetting, chromatic aberration, and perspective distortion that may ruin an otherwise worthy photograph.

Sea & Sea is so sure that the camera is waterproof that it offers an insurance policy against water damage. The camera also features a switch allowing you to flip between the built-in closeup lens or built-in color correction filter.

To correct the cast not only would a longer exposure be needed but also the inclusion of a colour correction filter of a low value, care would have to be taken in choosing the correct filter otherwise an over corrected result may appear.
