Cross Screen Filter

Cross Screen Filter: A clear filter etched with a fine grid pattern which produces "starburst" flare patterns around light sources in a scene.

The Cross screen filter adds a starburst filter effect to point light sources. The Painting filter is supposed to emulate the look of a painting but to our eyes it looks more like overdone HDR.

A cross screen filter, also known as a star filter, creates a star pattern, in which lines radiate outward from bright objects.

There is a star or cross screen filter which has lines scratched in the glass.
