Cut film
Large format film available in flat sheets. The most common are in "Imperial sizes": 4 ins x 5 ins and 8 ins x 10 ins .

knife cut film
a lacquer or similar film temporarily affixed to a clear support sheet, where designs or images are cut either mechanically or manually with a sharp knife.

Cut film - negative film available in flat sheets. The most common sizes are 4x5, and 8x10 inches.
Cyan - blue-green subtractive primary color which absorbs red and transmits blue-green.

Dark slide: Cut film holders used on large format cameras.
Day light film: Color film for use in daylight or flash. These films are balanced to 5400K.

Sheet Film Sheet or cut film is made in a variety of sizes from 4x5 to 11x14 inches and larger. The most common sizes are 4x5 and 8x10 inches.

the sensor: nature (digital, 35mm film, 120 film, APS film, other rollfilm, cut film...) and size (24×36mm, 6×6cm...);
the viewing system (external finder, electronic finder, LCD screen, single lens reflex, twin lens reflex...); ...

Normally, a camera taking roll film (typically 120/220 but also 70mm and a range of obsolete roll film sizes), though there are arguably "medium format" cut film sizes such as 21/4x31/4", 21/2x31/2", 6.

-Sheet film - alternative term for cut film.
-Shelf life - length of time unused material or chemicals will remain fresh.
-Shellac - natural resin with a low melting point. It is mainly used on dry mounting tissue.

Roll film adaptor
A specially designed attachment for cameras designed for cut film, enabling roll film to be used.

I find these bags are great for other things, for example quart size Ziploc Freezer bags are just the right size for 4x5 cut film holders. Charged and discharged batteries, exposed and unexposed film, lens hoods, camera manuals, etc.

Do you know why the LEICA was invented? Because it was developed from little cameras Leitz made to be used alongside movie cameras for shooting short "clip tests," without having to cut film from the larger magazine in the movie camera.

Some modern machines also cut films and prints automatically, sometimes resulting in negatives cut across the middle of the frame where the space between frames is very thin or the frame edge is indistinct, as in an image taken in low light.
