-Daylight tank - light tight container for film processing. -Dedicated flash - flash gun designed to integrate automatically into a cameras exposure reading and shutter circuitry.
When I would occasionally use a roll of B&W film, I would develop it, myself, in a daylight tank. In the early 1980s, I returned to using 4X5 B&W sheet film, processing it in my own darkroom.
I have a darkroom space, but most of the dark seems to leak out, so I use the changing bag to daylight tank method of loading the film, which rules out being able to place the loaded film "in the vat " as someone observed.
