2003 Doubletake Images creates the world's largest photographic mosaic-over 10,000 square feet (1,000 m2). The live event took place at Disneyland and was created by thousands of castmembers holding up photographs of themselves.[2] ...
Achromatic Doublet A lens in which achromatic correction is achieved by cementing together two lenses made from different types of glass. Achromat ...
Doublet Two simple lenses used in combination, placed close together or in contact. If they are cemented together, they constitute a "cemented doublet". If they are merely closely adjacent, they are a "separated doublet".
RR lens - initials of Rapid Rectilinear: a lens made of a symmetric pair of cemented doublets (also called Aplanat lens) saturation - a measure of the intensity of a colour; reducing the saturation to zero gives a greyscale image.
Achromatic / Apochromatic Doublets Special lens systems (achromatic or apochromatic doublets) using two or more pieces of glass with different refractive indexes can reduce or eliminate this problem.
-Rapid rectilinear - lens system composed of two matching doublet lenses, symmetrically placed around the focal aperture. It was introduced by Dallmeyer and Sternheil and removed many of the aberrations present in more simple constructions.
The Soft Focus Optic’s multi-coated optical glass doublet creates a much flatter field of focus than previous Lensbaby optics, making this optic well-suited for a variety of soft focus applications.
Chromatic aberrations are reduced if special lens systems such as achromatic or apochromatic doublets are used. These use two or more pieces of glass with different reflective characteristics. Not even these are completely perfect however.
