Depth of field - put simply, depth of field is a measure of how much of an image, apart from the main subject, remains in focus. In other words, how much of the background and the foreground of the subject is sharp.

U bent de trotse eigenaar van een digitale spiegelreflexcamera (DSLR). Maar het is een misvatting te veronderstellen dat zo'n camera een toverdoos is waarvan elke foto een voltreffer is.

Indeed, one of the reasons I kept a film body after getting my original D100 DSLR was that lens. There just wasn't anything like it available for DX-format digital, at least until the 12-24mm AFS DX was released.

8 ED Fisheye Lens is designed to work with "standard" DSLR sensors (smaller than film/full frame sensors) so this lens produces a full frame image rather than the circular "door peep" images of many fisheye lenses.

A major picture quality difference between a digital compact and a DSLR is that the compact produces photos with more noise, similar to the 'grain' of a high ISO traditional film.

If you are using a DSLR camera, I highly recommend a F2.8 or better lens. Shoot wide open. If you don't have an f2.8 lens, try renting one. It is dark and the only available light is in the tanks. Take your time shooting.
