Dye transfer
A method of making color prints or transparencies that gives the maximum control of color, balance and contrast. One of the most permanent color processes. This process is also known as Polaroid transfer.

Dye transfer print - method of producing color prints via three color separation negatives. Negatives are used to make positive matrixes, which are dyed in subtractive primaries and printed in register.
The prevailing artistic medium was black and white photography, but Eliot Porter opposed this by producing almost all his work entirely in color, using the dye transfer method to produce superb and high quality pictures.
One of its primary applications was usage in Technicolor's dye imbibition printing (dye transfer).
For Joel Meyerowitz, inkjet printing offers a more faithful description of the world than C-prints or dye transfers.
