Unlike other programs, Lightroom doesn't have a regular saving command such as "Save As" like Photoshop.

Exporting and publishing images from Lightroom 3
The final stage in the Lightroom 3 workflow is exporting images. Images can be exported to disc as DNG, TIFF or JPEG files, to an online gallery, as a slideshow, or as a webpage.

Filter - An image transform tool used to process an image; for example, to sharpen, blur, or diffuse it.

Don't export the clipboard
Photoshop uses its own facilities to drag and drop data between open images, but must rely on your operating system's clipboard to interchange data with other applications.

Exporting
With RAW images or non-destructive editing the original file is never changed. Your edits are applied when you export an image into another format, to a different folder, or to a file with a different filename.
