Fiber based paper

Photography Ferrotype processFiber optics

-Fiber based paper - photographic paper without a resin coating. Processing times are longer than for other papers, but the paper is more archivally permanent.
-Field camera - sheet film camera suitable for use in location work.

Let the print sit in the stop bath for about 15-30 secs depending on the paper (fiber based papers need longer). Then transfer it with a separate pair of tongs to the fixer. Time in the fixer depends on whether you are using a rapid fixer or not.

Black and white prints (whether they be fiber based paper or RC paper) are recorded in silver. It is the silver that gives black and white prints their beautiful tone and rich values.

Resin coated paper (RC)
A printing paper with a water repellent base. RC Paper can be processed faster, require less washing, and dry more quickly than fiber based papers.
