Flash Synchronization
Flash Synchronization is the automatic process in which the camera's shutter speed is synchronized with the camera's flash, ...

Flash synchronization :
Timing of the flash coincides with release of the camera's shutter.

Flash Synchronization: The adjustment and timing of camera and flash so that the flash fires when the camera shutter is open. Most 35mm SLR cameras synchronize with electronic flash at shutter speeds of 1/60th or slower.

FLASH SYNCHRONIZATION - Timing the triggering of the flash so that it fires only when the shutter is completely open, thereby ensuring complete exposure of the entire film frame.

-Flash synchronization - method of synchronizing flash light duration with maximum shutter opening. There are usually two settings on a camera, X and M. X is the setting used for electronic flash.

To make faster shutter speeds and higher flash synchronization speeds possible, ...

X-Synchronization A camera's flash synchronization mode that accommodates a flash that has an instantaneous peak light output. XGA XGA (EXtended Graphics Array) is a screen resolution of 1024x768 pixels.

The manual says "Flash units that can be used with this camera must meet the following three conditions: (1) The aperture can be set, (2) External flash synchronization can be used, (3) The ISO sensitivity can be set.

The fastest shutter speed that can be used is called the flash synchronization speed and is usually between 1/125-1/500 second. If you select a faster shutter speed directly or indirectly, most cameras will override you and lower it.

Also known as a Nelson connector. A 2 pin wet connector, i.e. a connector which can be pulled out and plugged in underwater. Used for flash synchronization on the Sea & Sea Motormarine Mk1. Also used as a telephone connector on fullface diving masks.

Leaf shutters, on the other hand, open fully even at their highest speeds, allowing flash synchronization at all speeds.
Focal plane shutters are noisier than leaf shutters.

Maximum flash synchronization speed is determined by the moment the shutter curtains are completely open. This would typically be 1/125 or 1/60.
