Amount of Focus Plane Rotation
Rotation in focus plane is relative to its location for camera/lens with same field of view, but no shift.

In particular, be aware when using tilt that the depth of field around the focus plane is significantly reduced as compared to the case when no movements are used, so don't forget to check the top of the trees or hills.

A 50mm lens or a lens thats focal length is close to or equal to the diagonal of the film area or digital sensor at the film or sensor imaging focus plane.

The next picture is somewhat more interesting - just the main object is sharp but everything else including the same focus plane is totally blurred. How's that ? It's not all that difficult but it costs lots of film.

whereas this one prefers a different focus plane (same aperture).
As you can see we have lots of potential creativity just by selecting the aperture and focus plane.
FOCAL-LENGTH AND PERSPECTIVE ...

This is the NEX-7's manual focus 'peaking' display, using a large-aperture manual focus lens (an old Olympus Zuiko 50mm F1.4) and focusing through the scene from front to back. High-contrast edges in the focus plane are highlighted in red - only ...

Besides replacing the filter on top of the sensor of your DSLR, it is necessary to recalibrate the camera focus, because the infrared wavelength propagates differently -and even varies from lens to lens- making its image focus plane ahead of the ...

"C", will still be at the original focus distance "d" from the lens, but the plane of focus at the edge of the frame will be at a distance of x (= d/cos(theta)) from the lens. So the original subject will now be slightly in front of the focus plane ...

Another multiple shot method utilized a single CCD with a Bayer filter but actually moved the physical location of the sensor chip on the focus plane of the lens to "stitch" together a higher resolution image than the CCD would allow otherwise.
